Samsung Galaxy S4 : what's new in the Software

Though Samsung Galaxy S4 looks similar to its younger brother Samsung galaxy S3, but there are more stunning features added this time.

Although the hardware sums up an impressive spec sheet, but at the same time software is also accountable for the success of this smartphone series.

Samsung has fully disguised the stock android with its own TouchWiz interface and the result is an amazing piece of software .Samsung has fully changed android into something new with impressive interface backed up by some amazing features.

So let’s take a look at what Samsung has added to Samsung galaxy S4 on the software front.

Smart Scroll: Samsung has made S4 smarter than its predecessor (S3). With the help of front camera the phone detects where the user is looking on the screen and scrolls the screen accordingly though the user needs to tilt the smartphone.

Smart Pause:  If the user is not watching video being played the smartphone will automatically sense and will pause the video.

S Health:  Samsung galaxy S IV is the first device in the world to feature a thermometer and pedometer .These are the two devices which empower S Health in keeping track of your daily habits, body temperature. And soon Samsung will offer an accessory S band which will work with help of Bluetooth to enhance features.

S Translate: The phone translates the voice and text in other languages (currently 9) and these features are integrated with messaging as well as Email App other than standalone application.

Dual Shot: This feature uses front and rear camera at the same time to create a picture in picture type effect. User can customize the images by applying effects and same can be done with videos.

Sound Shot:  This feature allows the user to capture an image with audio .Max 9 seconds audio can be inserted in the image.

 Drama Shot: Allows the user to click 100 images in 4 seconds. It’s something like burst mode.

Air Gesture: Reject calls, change the song with gesture based commands .This feature comes in handy where your phone is not physically accessible for example while driving.

Air View:  Lets you preview email, text messages, Photos and other content without actually opening them.

S Travel: Samsung with support of TripAdvisor has set up this app in the smartphone which will help users while planning trips

Group Play: You can instantly transfer files and media to the other Samsung Galaxy S4 handset and this feature also enables multiplayer gaming.

Apart from these features Samsung Galaxy S 4 runs on Android 4.2 which makes it first smartphone to feature Android 4.2 other than Google Nexus.
