Micromax Canvas 4 : What’s on the table?


Indian Phone makers have come a long way since they adopted the Google’s Android platform to market their phones, and it appears that time has come for them to take on the bigger players in the mobile phone market.
Indian handset maker Micromax today launched its flagship smartphone Canvas-4. The much awaited smartphone is priced at INR 17,999 for consumers. Micromax unveiled its much-anticipated smartphone Canvas-4 A210 in New Delhi later today at 12 pm.

 The handset maker was excited at the launch and they even started a launch campaign earlier this July.  Pre-bookings were opened much before releasing the actual specifications of the device. Though now company has confirmed the specs which are as followed under.  The hype was so great that the company received more than 4000 bookings in the first seven hours itself. The booking amount was INR 5000/-

The Canvas 4  borrows the eye-tracking feature from the Samsung Galaxy S4 in which looking away from the screen while watching a video pauses the video and resumes play when the user looks back at the screen.

Here are the specs

Display and body- 5-inch HD IPS display and touchscreen even works while wearing gloves; the aluminium body doubles up as antennae.

Processor-  Cortex A7 1.2 GHz quad-core processor

OS- runs on Android 4.2.1.

RAM and Storage- 1 GB of RAM is bit disappointing; 16 GB of internal memory.

Camera- 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera.
The rear camera can record 1080p videos and is claimed to capture 99 images in 15 seconds while using burst mode.

Weight- 145 gm in an aluminium frame with plastic case
