Rise of a New Religion- TECHNOLOGY

Google it and you will find out that there are 4200 different religions in the world. Generally we assume that every person follows atleast one religion( unless he or she is an atheist), but in my perspective there is a rise of new and the youngest religion in the world common to every modern man- TECHNOLOGY.

In that sense a theist follows atleast two religions at the same time. We have begun to follow and worship technology as if it is the first and the last thing to do on this planet. It has trapped us into its web and there seems to be no way out. From getting up in the morning to going to bed in the evening everything has become easier now. But not everyone agrees with this view. Many non believers and secularist regards science and religion as incompatible while we believe technology and science are brothers in arms. Thereby they often disregard view which institutes technology as a new religion. Rise of technology and religion together is not a mere coincidence. Atheist often criticize theist for failing to provide evidence of their supernatural beliefs which are unexplanatory and irrational in scientific context causing a stir among them. But on the other hand people from different cultures and backgrounds in high-tech industries are making endless efforts in making life easier who themselves get inpired by the fundamentals of technology as a religion.

THE NEGATIVE VIEW

Indeed there are some negative aspects due to mixing of technology and religion or perhaps the concept is too abstract. Many spiritual leaders argue that with the advent of newer technologies more and more people are turning atheist and doubt the very existence of beliefs and faiths of theist which in my view is true to some extent and should not happen .They also believe that with the modern man is succumbing to newer technologies they are drifting apart from their real identity. Advancement in science and technology is also posing a threat to mankind. Technology itself is causing terrible problems creating havoc for mankind. Acceptance of technology by modern man is yet to improve his future but has already created some potholes which are yet to be acknowledged, anlalysed and then eliminated.

THE POSITIVE AND MOST ACCEPTABLE VIEW

For hundreds of years in many parts of the world technological advances were inspired by the desire of their religions and cultures to make progress inspite of war between rational and irrational beliefs. Many noted scientist and discoverers (like Galileo) were themselves part of this war of rationality and irrationality and yet they managed to deliver us their great findings.
The congregation of religion and technology is possible and is currently happening. Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet maintains a Twitter account, live telecast from various temples and mosques are being telecast all over world on televisions and mobile devices. Various apps are being developed daily which provides a spiritual environment to different people from their respective cultures and faithes inspite of the fact that they are living in a secular environment. One can now easily find ways to come closer to his/her religion and perform ceremonies and duties at click of a button.

Although the rise of technology as a religion is a subject of great interest, we must be aware of fact that one's religion is a much deeper thing than this phenomenon called technology should never create hurdles between people and their believes. It should create an utopian world free from political lines with no discrimination and catastrophes which might endanger mankind.
